When ready to cook, in a separate small bowl combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger, and 1 tablespoon of cornstarch and whisk together. This is the sauce that will go over the stir fry at the end. Set it aside for now.
Make Stir Fry
Make the seasoning for the beef. Combine 4 tablespoons cornstarch, 1 cup water, and 1 teaspoon garlic powder in a small bowl.
Take the meat out and slice into strips.
Heat a wok over medium high heat on the stove and add 3 tablespoons of oil.
Mix the slices of beef into the seasoning, coating evenly and stir fry in the oil until nicely browned. Cook in batches and set aside in a separate plate as you go.
Stir fry the onion, asparagus, and broccoli in the remaining oil for about 4 to 5 minutes.
Add the bell peppers and cook until it is desired tenderness.
Add back the beef.
Drizzle the stir fry sauce over the meat and veggies and cook until desired doneness.
