French Toast

Sourdough bread is dredged in egg batter then pan fried to golden brown. Serve with butter and maple syrup or top with powdered sugar, whipped cream, and fresh berries.

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 loaf sliced sourdough

Instructions

  • Mix egg, milk, sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon together and put in a pan or shallow dish that you can use for dredging.
  • Put a pat of butter on a heated skillet.
  • Take a slice of sourdough bread and dredge it in the egg batter, both sides.
  • Grill it until it is golden brown, then flip to brown the other side.
  • Place on a plate in a heated oven and repeat until the batter is gone.
  • Serve with favorite syrup.
